In the fall, 105 military academics will begin their officer training at the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt, which is steeped in tradition. Previously, 112 applicants had taken part in the multi-stage selection process.
In the run-up to the event, 130 candidates had already demonstrated their military and technical aptitude at the Army NCO Academy in Enns. 110 of them were admitted to the final admission procedure at the military academy. The field of applicants was supplemented by two civilian candidates.
Among other things, they were tested for fluency, reasoning and decision-making skills, mental resilience, physical fitness and English language skills. In addition, a sports motor profile was assessed in the areas of strength, endurance and fitness.
The results were announced in the academy’s historic castle courtyard: 107 of the 112 applicants met the requirements – one rejected his place, another officer candidate is returning to training after an interruption. This means that the new first cohort comprises 105 military academy graduates (plus the two civilian participants), including five women.
